John C. Brewer
Funeral services for John C. Brewer, 84 of Waynesboro were conducted Monday, February 27 at 3 P.M. at
the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro with Tim Owen, Cal Hampton and Mike Hammonds
officiating.  Burial followed in Highland Cemetery in Lawrenceburg.

Mr. Brewer died Saturday, February 25 at his home in Waynesboro.

He was a native of Wayne County, born on July 5, 1921 to the late Tom Cebe and Ada Jane Gobbel
Brewer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona M. Jackson; one son, Troy Brewer; two brothers,
Lewis and Tom Brewer, Jr.; four sisters, Opal Davis, Geneva Brewer, Alton Faye Brewer and Clovie
Staggs.

Mr. Brewer was a retired factory worker from Genesco, a former member of the Mt. Hope Methodist
Church.  He served his county druing World War 11 in the United States Army and was a member of the
disabled American-Veterans Association.

Survivors include two sons, James Edward Brewer and William Paul Brewer both of Waynesboro; two
daugthers, Rachel L. Franks and Pamela M. Jaske both of Waynesboro; one brother, Carmel "Shad" Brewer
of Waynesboro; one sister, Goldie Nutt of Waynesboro; six grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

John C. Brewer., Serial Number 44040717, was inducted 31 August 1944 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. His
description was as follows; Blue Eyes, brown hair ruddy complexion, 5' 7" height, age 23 years and
2/12, married and was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee. His Civilian Occupation was Farmer. He was a
Private in Company C, 151st Infantry Training Btn. United States Army. He was honorably discharge 22
September 1944 at Fort McPherson, Georgia.  His military qualifications were Marksman Rifle.

M. Jackson Brewer,79 of Anderson St. Waynesboro were conducted Monday, June 3, at Shackelford Funeral
Home Chapel in Waynesboro with Timothy Owen, Wayne Lineberry and Thomas Barber officiating. Burial
was in Highland Cemetery.  Mrs. Brewer died Sunday, June 2, at her home. She was a native of Wayne
County, the daughter of the late Lester O. and Gertie May Staggs Jackson. She was retired from
Genesco and was a member of the Mr. Hope Methodist Church.  Survivors include her husband, John C.
Brewer of Waynesboro; thre sons, James Edward Brewer, Troy Coleman Brewer and William Paul Brewer all
of Waynesboro; two daughters Rachel Lorene Franks and Pamela Marie Jaske, both of Waynesboro; two
brothers, Chester Jackson of Chula Vista, CA and Junior Jackson of Waynesboro; five sisters, Ester
Brewer of Orem, UT,and Bessie Blair of Montclaire, CA, Delcie McKinney of Redding,CA, Ima Coffey of
Nashville and Dinah Vandygriffe of Waynesboro; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
