Frederick was born in New Jersy and according to census records prior to 1790.It appears he was the eldest son of Lawerence and Elizabeth.He was brought to Fayette Co Pa.1794-1795. His father appears on the 1795 Tax records Fayette for the first time along with his brothers John and David.Fredericks father is dead by 1800 leaving a widow Elizabeth with 7 Children.Frederick is named in the Estate settlement of his father Lawrence Sr in 1820 when his mother who has since remarried to a John Hardesty, is liquidating the estate.The estate was divided into 7ths after she recieves her widows dowry. Frederick apparently is married before 1810 and shows up in Portage Co Ohio He was not in Fayette Co in 1820 to sign on the settlement of his fathers estate. All of his children were born in Portage Co Ohio according to Census records. They show that Frederick and Sarah had at least 6 boys and three girls born between 1808 and 1831. He was employed in the iron industry just like his ancestors back to the late 1600's in Pa,New Jersey and Zinswiller (Alsace Lorraine) area of Germany. His family having arrived in Northern NJ in 1762 along with other German families (over 500 individuals) to develop the Iron Industry there.
