Obituary for Harry Griffiths from "The Daily News", McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, dated
Saturday, 9 February 1980. It reads as follows: Harry J. Griffiths, 74, of 6919 Wilson Street, West
Mifflin, died yesterday in Willis Center, Homestead. He retired in 1970 with 35 years service as a
sheet inspector for Irvin plant, U.S. Steel Corp., was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church,
Dravosburg, and life member of West Mifflin No. 3 Volunteer Fire Co. A former Dravosburg resident,
he was born in McKeesport, 8 July 1905, son of the late James and Sarah Riley Griffiths. Surviving
are his widow, Virginia Harrison Griffiths; son James R. Griffiths of Rockville, Md.; daughters
Barbara A. Bowers of Rockville and Delores Davis of Harvey, Ill.; grandchildren; and brother, Russell
Griffiths of Rapid River, Michigan. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and noon to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the I.M. Finney Funeral Home, Dravosburg, where service will be conducted
Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Bruce Mounts. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
Obituary for Virginia Harrison in "The Daily News", McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, dated
Friday, 30 January 1987. It reads: Virginia Ruth Griffiths, 76, of Wilson St., West Mifflin,
formerly of Dravosburg, died yesterday in McKeesport Hospital. She was a member of Amity
Presbyterian Church and Senior Citizens, both of Dravosburg. Born in Donora, Jan. 18, 1911, she was
the daughter of the late Peter Robert and Alverda May Bunbaugh [sic] Harrison and widow of Harry J.
Griffiths. Surviving are children, James R. Griffiths of Rockville, Md., and Barbara A. Bowers of
Studio City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and brother George E. Harrison of Lynwood, Calif. Friends
will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow when service will
be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Mounts in the I.M. Finney Funeral Home, Dravosburg. Burial will be in
Richland Cemetery.
