Mrs. Emma McDowell Hood, aged 63, died at her home in Fairmont, W.Va., Sunday evening at 6:30 o'clock
according to word which reached members of the McDowell family yesterday. Her passing took place
just three weeks next Thursday from the death of her husband, a well known Fairmont merchant.
Mrs. Hood was a native of Uniontown and a sister of Alex McDowell and Mrs. Becky Collins and Mrs.
Martha McCloy, all of Uniontown. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McDowell of
Uniontown. The following sons and daughters survive: Martha and Charles of Fairmont, Leo, Paul and
Hugh at home. Alex McDowell, Samuel, Harry and Ray McDowell left for Fairmont yesterday to complete
the funeral arrangements.
