Sylvia Ann Sisler COFFMAN (1893-1996)
Sylvia Ann Sisler Coffman, 103, wife of the late Harold Dale Coffman of Uniontown,died Saturday,
March 30, 1996, in Blue Ridge Haven West in Camp Hill, Pa. She was born Oct. 22, 1893, in Vanderbilt,
Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph Grant Sisler and Lottie Almeda Newmyer Sisler Miller.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by brothers George William,
Jessie Earl, Bert, Joseph Grant II, John Edward, Stanley Ira, Samuel Porter, and half-brother, Donald
M. Miller. Also predeceased were her stepsisters, Carrie Edna Miller Humphrey and Eleanor Virginia
Miller Breakiron, halfsister, Evelyn Miller MacBurnie, and stepfather, Ewing M. Miller.
Mrs. Coffman was a stenographer for attorney George Patterson and bookkeeper and stenographer for her
brother, J.G. Sisler, and was also employed at Metzler's Department Store for many years until her
retirement in 1959. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown and a 50-year member
of Uniontown Chapter No. 263 Order of EasternStar.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Dale Coffman of Baltimore, Md., three grandchildren, Patricia
Coffman Wilson, Mark William Coffman, and Jane Coffman Kosnicki, seven great-grandchildren, and a
number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown,
Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 3, 1996, until 11 a.m., the hour of
service, with the Rev. James R. Tweardy officiating. Interment will follow. Eastern Star Services
will be held today at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Uniontown Chapter No. 263 OES.
