Here is information on the family of Arthur Dent Hardman:
 
Arthur Dent Hardman was born 12 April 1880 in Lyon Township, Preston County, West Virginia, the son
of Hans Roland Hardman and Caroline Frances Bumbaugh.  Arthur died 9 September 1964 in Pennsylvania. 
About 1902 he married Lynne Craig.  She was born about 1881 in Pennsylvania.  Arthur and Lynne had
two children:
 
1.)  Grace Helen Hardman, born about 1905 in Ohio.  She married a man with the surname of Cherry. 
They had a son named Arthur Cherry, born about December 1925 in Pennsylvania.
 
2.)  Caroline Ruth Hardman, born about 1907 in Ohio.  She married a man with the surname of Rudolph.

The 1880 Census for Lyon Township, Preston County, West Virginia indicates that this child was two
months old at the time the census was conducted.  See notes under mother.
 
1910 census for 5th Ward McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, page 164, lines 29-32, dated 27
April.  It lists Arthur Hardman (aged 30, married once for 8 years; born in WV/ father born in WV,
mother in PA; moulder at the pipe mill); wife Lynn (aged 29, married once for 8 years; born in PA;
parents born in PA); daughter Grace (aged 5, OH, father born in WV, mother in PA); and daughter
Caroline (aged 3, OH, father born in WV, mother in PA).  Lynn indicated that she had had two
children, both still living.
 
1920 census for 5th Ward McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, page 179, lines 57-60, dated 22
January.  It lists Arthur D. Hardman (aged 49, WV, father born in WV, mother born in PA; moulder at
the iron mill); wife Lynne [sic] (aged 38, PA; parents born in PA); daughter Helen (aged 14, OH); and
daughter Ruth (aged 13, OH).  Question:  are Helen and Ruth the same as Grace and Caroline?  Are
these their first or middle names?
 
1930 census for 7th Ward McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, lines 37-41, dated 15 April.  It
lists Arthur D.  Hardman (aged 50; married at age 21; WV; father born in WV; mother born in PA;
watchman at pipe mill); wife Lynne [sic] (aged 49; married at age 21; PA; parents born in PA);
daughter Helen H. Cherry (aged 25; divorced; born in Ohio; school teacher); daughter Ruth Rudolph
(aged 24; married at age 23; Ohio); and grandson Arthur Cherry (aged 4 years 4 months; born in PA;
father born in PA; mother born in Ohio).
