Ernest Russell Hardman was the son of Hans Roland Hardman and Caroline (Carrie) Frances Bumbaugh. 
Ernest was born 8 April 1868 in West Virginia.  He died 22 July 1930 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.  He married Frances May McShane, the daughter of Patrick McShane and Frances Small. 
The marriage took place about 1890, probably in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Frances May McShane
was born 9 November 1868 in Pennsylvania, and died 27 August 1927 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.  They are both buried in the Homewood Cemetery (unknown town), Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.  Ernest and Frances had nine children:
 
1.)  Blanche Idabelle Hardman, born 12 September 1892 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania;
died 19 August 1965 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  She married Carl (possibly Karl)
Schon about 1926.  Carl was born about 1897/1898 in Austria. They had at least one child:  Karl
Schon, born about April 1927.
 
2.)  Grace Eleanor Hardman, born 29 July 1894, probably in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.
 
3.)  Rolland Arthur Hardman, born 24 March 1896, probably in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.  He died June 1962 in California.
 
4.)  Mildred Gertrude Hardman, born 7 August 1898 probably in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.
 
5.)  Russell Melville Hardman, born 9 December 1900, probably in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.
 
6.)  Walter Bruce Hardman, born 13 January 1902, probably in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.
 
7.)  Lawrence Donald Hardman, born 19 September 1903 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania;
died 21 April 1986 in Redding, Shasta County, California.  On 8 February 1928 in Wellsburg, Brooke
County, West Virginia he married Eleanor Elizabeth Marsh, the daughter of Leon Burnham Marsh and
Pearl Reed.  Eleanor Elizabeth Marsh was born 7 January 1912 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania, and died 9 November 1985 in Redding, Shasta County, California.  They had two children:
 Phyllis Jeanne Hardman and Dennis Lee Hardman.
 
8.)  Harold Francis Hardman, born 22 August 1906 in Ohio.
 
9.)  Glenn Lorenz Hardman, born 27 June 1910 probably in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; died 1
January 1996 in Redding, Shasta County, California.  On 16 May 1936 (place unknown) he married Alice
Mildred O'Connell (I have no further information on her).  They had two children:  Helen Jean Hardman
and Larry Hardman.

14, Ohio), and son Lorenze [sic] (aged 9, PA).
