Evidence indicates that Alvin Edward Swaney is the son of Otho Marion Swaney and Mary E. Skelley.

As I mentioned before, Otho's death certificate indicates he was single.  Today I found another typed
document provided to my father in 1984 by an Oma Swaney.  She indicated that he had 3 children, Daisy
Swaney Moser (mother Emma Fordyce who was Otho's house keeper), Georgie Swaney (mother perhaps Emma),
and Otho Dalton (mother Lucy Dalton, took mother's name).  Georgie is referred to as "she" and "her",
but in newfamilysearch, there is a George O. who has been entered as a male.

I had gotten information about this family unit from Duane Cooley, nephew of Kathryn Cooley Miller,
who wrote the book "Records of the Past, Funeral Home Records" of Fayette County, Pennsylvania.  In
Duane's records and in Kathryn's book, she lists the funeral home death record of Alvin Edward
Swaney, with his parents Otho Marion Swaney and Mary E. Skelley.  Duane's complete record about Alvin
looks like this:

The 1900 Census supports the idea that Alvin's mother's surname is Skelley, listing his grandmother
as living with them (who by the way was originally Frances C. Victor):

However, the 1880 census shows Otho living with his father and siblings in Georges TWP.  I've not
been able to locate Mary Skelley or Francis Skelley in 1880 in a combination that supports this
information further.  This needs some looking into, even though the funeral home information provides
the primary information.
