While living in Fairchance, Fayette County, PA, Homer (also Omer) worked for West Penn Power in the
electricity division.  He was also part owner of the historic Stonehouse Inn in 1941.  That date is
valid as the previous owner died in 1940 (see history at
http://www.stonehouseinn.com/complete_history.htm)

He was also owner of Homer’s gas station on the road to Hopwood while still employed at West
Penn Power.  He and Jennie lived in house right across the street from gas station until they bought
the 16 acre McFadden farm (after 1941).
