The Will of Henry MILLER is recorded in the Will records of Frederick County, Maryland, in Liber G.M.
2, Folio 474. It is dated 11 March, 1793, and was proven 24 May, 1793, so that he must have died in
1793 at the age of 50 years. Among the witnesses to this Will are Joseph LEATHERMAN, father of Joel
LEATHEMAN, who married Mary Magdalene GETZENDANNER, a sister of Catherine GETZENDANNER, who was the
wife of Henry MILLER'S son, David MILLER III. 

David MILLER III married Catherine (GETZENDANNER) AMBROSE, widow of Christopher AMBROSE. The obit for
William MILLER, David's son, states that his father moved from Frederick County, Maryland in 1789 or
1798. This must have been in 1798, since no David MILLER is listed in the 1790 Census of Georges
Township.

William MILLER, David's son and third child, was born about 14 February, 1806. On 22 November, 1827,
he married to Mary DAVIS, a daughter of James DAVIS and Keziah PHILLIPS. William and Mary had 11
children: David P.; Hannah N.; James D.; Sarah D.; Adoniram J.; Caroline; Squire A.; Albert S.;
Marcellus E.; Alfred J.; and John C. MILLER.

   "The death of William MILLER, of Georges Township, Fayette County, in his 86th year, removes from
the vacinity of Fairchance, one of the oldest citizens. He was born and died on the same farm. His
father moved from Maryland in 1792 or '89, and the old house is still standing into which he moved
and in which William was born. One old citizen said to the writer on the day of the funeral; "Mr.
MILLER was an honest man. I have known him from childhood and never knew him guilty of a mean or
dishonest trick; he was a good citizen, a faithful friend."

He was a member of the Baptist Church at Smithfield for over 60 years, holding the position of Clerk
for some years. The last few years he has been too feeble to attend regularly, but it was rarely his
seat was vacant when he could be there. He leaves a family of nine children, all of whom have grown
to manhood and womanhood, several of them having families of their own. His wife died 20 years ago. A
large number of his friends gathered at his funeral to testify to their love and esteem for him.

He was buried in the Baptist Graveyard at Smithfield on the 16th, beside the wife of his youth and
manhood. Rest after labor comes sweet, and to him may the waking be meet."

   The Will of William MILLER is dated 1 January, 1888, was probated on 21 October, 1891, and is
recorded in Will Book 8, Folio 281 of the Records Of Fayette County, Pa. It is witnessed by Henry
McINTYRE and William H. McINTYRE. By his Will he left the home farm, part of "Strawberry Hill", on
the northwest side of the Morgantown Road, in Georges Township, to his son, Alfred J. MILLER. To his
son, John C. MILLER, he left a farm on the southeast side of the Morgantown Road.

   These two farms constituted the original "Strawberry Hill". To his sister, Sarah McFADDEN, he left
the home, occupied by her in 1888, and purchased by William MILLER from George SHANABERGER. Letters
testamentary on the estate of William MILLER were issued to Alfred J. MILLER on 21 October, 1891.

   His wife, Mary DAVIS MILLER, left no Will....
