I Am trying to find my ggmothers family I have been told they were of the cherroee Indian line. Julia Simpson(born 1874 or 5) in Al married Nathaniel Jenkins 1894 Than was born 1876 or 4 I have been told Julia's mother was Jane Brewer born about 1847 or 1851 who married Samuel Simpson. trying to find out if she is from the brewer line she lived in Jackson county in 1930 she lived in Paint Rock My Gmother was Ruthie Jane Jenkins Harbin.

Hello, I'm an East TN Brewer. Great-grandfather was William Matthew Brewer 1870-1931. His mother was Louisa Smith (abt. 1830-1894) who was married ( his second wife) to Asa Brewer (1808-1876). Does anyone have info of where Asa and family were located during the 1870 census? Also, any history of Louisa Smith and children would also be appreciated. Thanks!

My g. grandmother was Amada Hosper. In the census 0f 1860 for Hampshire Co. Virginia she and her son Andrew were shown living with Samuel Brewer. It is possible Samuel is a relative, she could have been divorced or widowed. Samuel was 57 at the time and she was 35 and her son 8 yrs. She was born in Pa., but Andrew was born in Cumberland Maryland as was Samuel. Others in the census were::
Samuel age (12) born in Md
Nancy Brewer age (11) born in Md
Lewis Brewer age (12) born in Md
John Brewer age (8) born in Md.
Henry Lamb age (16) born in Md
Samuel Lamb age(12) born in Md
James Leese age (17) born in Md
The other children could be relatives, Iwould assume that the Brewer children listed are her siblings.
I would appreciate any help , have run into a brick wall especially on the Hosper side. I was a Hosper before I married.

I believe our family can trace back to John Brewer from the Isle of Wight as well, not absolutely certain though. My grandfather was Willie Brewer. I believe he was born in Lewisburg, TN before 1900.
