John Robnett, a pioneer of Wayne County, Tennessee, was born in South Carolina, and is a son of John and Margaret Nesbitt Robnett, natives of Delaware and South Carolina, respectively. They came to Tennessee in 1816, and were the second family that located in Wayne County, Tennessee. The father until his death, which occurrred about 1824. the wife died in 1819. the father took for his second wife, a lady by the name of Farris, who died in 1831. John Robnett, our subject, resided with his step-mother two years after his fathers death, when he moved on his present farm of 1300 acres. In 1828 he married Nancy Staggs, daughter of Joseph and Fannie Nesbitt Staggs, and their union has been blessed in the birth of ten children: Joseph N., John, Cynthia P., Fannie, James, Margaret, Jane, Jerimiah, Neal S., and Ellender. Mr. Robnett is now eighty-two years old, but bids to live many years yet. He vividly remembers many incidents of pioneer life, and the hardships, with which the early settlers were oblidged to contend, in the settlements of the county. In politics he is a Republican, and furnished two sons for the Union Army. His wife is a member of the Christian Church.

Obituary: Headline: Jake B. Staggs Death's Victim: Former Officer Enters Into Rest Sunday Night After Lingering Illness.

Jake B. Staggs, for more than twenty years a member of the police force of Columbia, died at 10 o'clock Sunday night at his home at 1307 South Main Street after a illness of several months. Mr. Staggs underwent a serious operation seven weeks ago and sank gradually untill the end came. He was born in Wayne County seventy years ago, coming to Columbia thirty-two years ago and shortly after that was elected a member of the police force, which post he held for nearly a quarter of a century and was considered a splendid officer by his superiors.
Mr. Staggs was married to Amanda Corcoran on June 15, 1879 and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive as follows: Mrs C. W. Davidson, Mrs. W. H. Primm, Mrs R. S. Partin and Lon Staggs of Huntsville, Alabama, mrs. C. S. Nicks, St. Petersburg, Florida, all of whom were at his bedside when the death summons came. He is survived by twenty-one grand-children.
Mr. Staggs was a member of the Baptist Church and regarded as a good neighbor. The funeral will be conducted at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the residence by Reverand J. M. Rogers, Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

William H. Primm, son of William David Primm and Martha L. Brown, was born in Humphreys County, Tennessee on October 2, 1882. In 1900, he lived with Thomas and Lula Jefferys in Polk County, Georgia. He married Mattie Staggs (daughter of Jacob Biffle Staggs and Amanda Corcoran Staggs) on September 23, 1903 in Maury County, Tennessee in the town of Columbia. Mattie Staggs's family lived in Columbia. They had eleven children all born in Alabama. the first born was Violet Primm in 1904, so the couple moved to Alabama shortly after being married. William worked in cotton mills in Rockmart, Georgia, Pell City, Cordova, and Huntsville, Alabama. He also worked as a meat cutter in Huntsville. Mattie died on May 13, 1938 and he died on June 12, 1949 in Huntsville. During the later years of his life, he had homes in Huntsville, Alabama and Hollywood, Florida and traveled periodically between the two. He and Mattie are buried side-by-side in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.
