From the Wayne County Newspaper, January 1944. IN MEMORAL. In loving memory of my grandfather Bose
Jackson, who was called from this earth 6 months ago. Dear Grandfather I still can't believe it that
you have gone away. I think I won't get to see you until that judgement day. It still seems like a
dream to me. and yet it is true to think grandfather when you passed away I was miles, and miles from
you. I can still see you grandfather the day I rode away but little did we realize it then you would
soon be going away. Grandfather when I received the message telling me of your death. I just couldn't
believe it and yet it was true and I couldn't get back there to pay my farewell look at you. I
remember when I was back there last Nov. those words you said to me. I'll always remember them
grandfather and keep them in my memory. Grandfather those words you said to me when I started to
leave was this will probably be the last time you see me, but grandfather we'll meet again in heaven
where all is well and free. And oh! grandfather how I miss you since you passed away but we'll try
and meet you on that happy judgement day. Sleep on grandfather and take thy rest, we loved you dearly
