The geneologies list my father Trester S. Nutt with only his birtth place listed. His birthdate was
May 17, 1916 in Wayne county, Tennessee. He married Evelyn Brewer in 1937. He passed away in Sept.
2005. She still lives on homeplace in Wayne County. They had 7 children of which I am the oldest. I
was born in Oct. 1938. Sister, Margaret in April 1940, brother Frank in August 1941, brother Howard
in Jan. 1943, Sister Carolyn(now deceased) in April 1944, Brother David inNov. 1953 and sister
Elizabeth stillborn in 1958. I can furnish other information if you desire.

Evelyn Brewer Nutt

Evelyn Brewer Nutt 94, of Waynesboro, TN was born August 23, 1916 and died September 1, 2010. She was
preceded in death by husband Trester S. Nutt; daughter, Carolyn Nett Davis; sons in law Mevin Davis;
daughter in law Sadra Butler Nutt; mother Wilton Morrow Brewer; and father, Snow McMillan Brewer.

She is survived by one sister, Helen Brewer Johnson; five children, James H. ( Butch ) Nutt, (
Hilda),Lawrenceburg, GA; Margaret Nutt Perry ( Randy )Brentwood, TN; Frank M. Nutt ( Cathy),
Spartenburg, SC; Howard S. Nutt ( Patsy ), Waynesboro, TN; Fifteen grandchildren, Stan Nutt ( Jolene
), Kevin Nutt (Debbie), Steven Nutt ( Jennifer ), Atlanta GA; Paul Perry ( Lori ), Murfreesboro, TN;
Sam Perry ( Corrine) Hendersonville, TN; Carla Davis Bjork ( Karl), Franklin, TN; Bryan Nutt, Roger
Nutt ( Tracie ) Spartenburg, SC; John Carter Nutt ( Lisa ) Memphis, TN; Eric Nutt ( Melony ),
Lawrenceburs, TN; Noel Nutt, Nashville, TN; Larry D. Nutt, Garrett Trester Nutt ( Lori ), Whitney
Nutt Dixon ( Brandon ) Adam Nutt, Waynesboro, TN; Thirty great-grandchildren. Two are her namesakes,
Whitney Evelyn Nutt, Waynesboro, TN and Georgia Evelyn Perry, Hendersonville, TN.

" Miss" Nutt as she was known to many students taught in the Wayne County School system for total of
thirty-three years before retiring in 1979. She began teaching at the early age of 16 in a one room
school on Barlow. She was graduated from Wayne County High School in 1933, Martin College in 1935 and
the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1961. Her last ten years of teaching were at Wayne County
High School as the Senior English Teacher.

She was known for her teaching of the Waynesboro Chruch of Christ, a member and officer of the
Waynesboro American Legion Auxillary, a member and state and national officer of the Rural Letter
Carriers Auziliary, a founding member and officer of the Waynesboro Allied Arts Club, a member of the
Waynesboro Garden Club, and PTA and the Topsy Home Demonstration Club, and a member and officer of
the Jesse Cypert Chapter fo the D.A.R.

Her hositality was contagious, You could not darken her door without an invitation to dinner or a
piece of freshly baked pie or cake-- a southern tradition. And if your ate at her table, yhou never
forgot it.

Besides her chidlren and family, her school children were her passion. She was a born teacher and
took great delight in the achievments of all and especially of those who might have been disdvantaged
in some way.

She will be greatly missed.

Services were held on September 3, 2010 at 11 A.M. at the Waynesboro Church of Christ with Bro. Bobby
Pinckley officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemtery, Wayneboro, with Shackelford Funeral
Directors of Wayne County directing.
