From the Wayne County Newspaper, dated Friday, December 12, 1952. Funeral Services Dock Brewer this
Afternoon at 2:00 Funeral services for Dock Brewer, sixty years old Wayne farmer, will be held this
afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the County Line Methodist Church building by Bros. Barney Webb, of
Hohenwald. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Hurst Funeral Directors in charge of
arrangements. Mr. Brewer, died at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, early Wednesday morning. Aththough
he had been ill for several months, his death was unexpected. Mr. Brewer was a native of Wayne
County. He resided in Imperial Valley of California for four years but retuned to hs native state
several years ago. He was a very successful farmer and was for some time a member of the County
School Board. About four years ago he affilated with the Baptist Church. Mr. Brewer was a son of the
late Jim and Lum Brewer. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Omie Smith Brewer; 8 sons, Condred and Carl
Mack, of Nashville, Elliott and Hassell, of Detroit, Mich; Bill, Cranston and Bobby, of 48, and E.J.
with the Armed Forces in Alaska; three daughters, Mrs. Christine Lindsey and Miss Norma Jean Brewer,
of 48, and Mrs. Ethel Grimes, Detroit; three brothers, Rich, Clarence and Jasper, of Wayne county;
and six sister, Mrs. Hariette Stutts and Mrs. Sallie Nutt, Hohenwald; Mrs. Lucille Melton,
Waynesboro, Mrs. Dee Moore, Bowing Springs, Mrs. O.W. Davis Waynesboro, and Mrs. Mollie Beth Daniels,
Seeley, Calif.
From the Wayne County News, dated May 8, 1970 Friday. Mrs. Oma Mae Brewer. Funeral services for Mrs.
Oma Mae Brewer, 71 of Rt. 4, Waynesboro were conducted May 5, at 2 o'clock from Middle Tennessee
Funeral Home Chapel with Barney Webb officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Mrs Brewer died
May at Wayne County General Hospital. She was a native of Wayne County, a daughter of Robert and
Sallie Daniels Smith and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include eight sons, Conrad,
Elliott, Carl, E.J., Cranston, Bill and Bobby all of Waynesboro; Hassell Brewer of Brighton, Mich;
three daughters, Mrs. Christine Lindsey of Rt, 6, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Alora Seeger and Mrs. Norma Jean
Clemens both of Detroit, Mich; a brother, Frank Smith and two sister, Mrs. Dora McGee and Mrs. June
Vogel all of Bakersville, Calif ; 36 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 36 step-grandchildren;
three step-sons, John, Carmel and Tom Brewer, Jr; all of Waynesboro; three step daughters, Mrs.
Herman Nutt, Mrs Opal Davis, both of Waynesboro and Mrs. Taft Staggs of Hohenwald.
