    1901 - Death Notice

    Haydentown September 13, 1901
William Emme died at his home in Georges Township at 9 o'clock last night, September 13 1901, from
asthma and a complication of illness, at the age of 70 years, one month, and two days.
He had just celebrated his 70 birthday in August 11 last and it is a singular incident that William
died the same night that William McKinley died from an assassin's bullet, and his father died the
same night that President Garfield died from the bullet of assassin Guiteau on Sept 9-1881.
Mr. Emme married Lavania Derry, daughter of Basil Derry, and is survived by 11 children. Three
    other children have passed away.
He was a machinist by trade and had worked for 23 years for A. Garrison company in Pittsburgh, being
their foreman, although he made his home in Georges township with the exception of 5 years.
He was an industrious, intelligent citizen, and a staunch republican/
    	Funeral at 10 o'clock. Interment at Haydentown/
Deceased was half brother to the late Daniel Emme, who was a Justice of the Peace in Springhill. He
is also survived by a sister Mrs. Rachael Moore of Clinton County, Iowa.
