In 1818 Joe Victor bought the old Fairview Furnace at Haydentown at the sheriff sale.  The name was
originally called the Mary Ann but changed to Fairview by Victor.  Jow was the son of David and Jane
Victor.  David was a forgeman and after his death his widow and sons Jacob and Adam went back to
Ohio.  Joseph was a whig {democrat}.  He lived to a ripe old age.  He was 5 feet tall, weighed 175
lbs. and had blue gray eyes and coal black hair.  Adam died in Joe's home.  Joe's wife Mary Davis
her mother Mary Sturgeon.

The old Victor home place was @ the bottom (left) of Mud Pike at Haydentown, Pa.  This log house
still stands in 1969.

Joseph Victor was Roman Catholic bn. Jan 23, 1791 - Apr 13, 1882.  Son Otho succeeded him in
possessions, which were considerable.  Otho md Elizabeth Swaney a native of W. Va.  They had 15
children, 13 grew to maturity.  Wife bn. Sep 6, 1831.  She was a Methodist.

The old Victor Cemetary located near old furnace on Mud Pike, Haydentown, Pa.  Moved by people who
bought the farm.  Some to Swaney Cem @ Haydentown some to old Fairchance Cem. [The Tent Church on
119 north of Fairchance]

ALL THE CHILDREN OF THIS FAMILY ARE VERIFIED
 THRU THE WILL OF HIS SON JACOB IN MUSKINGEN CO OHIO AND
 BY RECORDS OF FATHER FARMER OF ST JOSEPHS CATHOLIC CHURCH
 IN PHIL. PA. ALSO CENSUS RECORDS, WILLS,AND LAND RECORDS
 OF THE OTHER CHILDREN.1800 census Fayette Co shows 6 sons and 3 daughters.
 David Victor Sr arrived in Fayette Co Pa from New Jersey about 1795 with his family
 of nine children and his wife Jane.He continued in the Iron Industry until about 1810.
 His Son Jacob had gone west to Muskingen Co Ohio and purchased land in
 Licking Township in 1809.David Sr,His wife Jane,son Adam,son Henry and 
 Davids youngest dau who was about 11 years old followed a short time later.
 The men continued in iron related work but also began farming,Later on 
 David Jr and his family came to Ohio,leaving on the remaining 4 children of
 Phillip,Joseph,Mary, and Elizabeth in Fayette Co Pa.Three of whose descendants
 remain to this day.Daughter Mary Victor married Benjamin Parker and in about
 1830 took her two sons to Ohio also.
 According to oral family history Joseph Victor and his wife Mary and his sister
 Elizabeth Victor Rhodes went by horseback to visit their parents in Ohio and
 brought back their fathers body when he died to Fayette Co where he was
 supposed to be buried by the old Victor (Mary Ann) Furnace in Haydentown.This
 land is still owned by the George Cooley family a Descendant.
 Besides Farming David Sr also worked at the Dillon Ironworks In Mus.Co
 Licking Twp as did his Son Jacob.
