    From the Sidney Daily News, Wednesday September 11, 1974.  City man apparent suicide victim .  A city
    man was found dead this morning with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Sidney
    Police reported today. The victim was identified as Omar Bowden, 84627 Maywood Place. His body was
    taken to Wilson Memorial Hosital where an autopsy was to have been performed today. Bowden was found
    at the Maywood Place residence by his son William, police said . He had been residing with his son. 
    A neighbor reported the incident to police at 3:22 a.m . The body was found in the west part of the
    garage with a 38 caliber revolver nearby, police said.  The time of death was not known. His son told
    officers he had left Tuesday at 7:30 p.m . and returned shortly after 3 a.m. Today. He was born Aug.
    30, 1890 in Wayne County, Tenn. son of Robert and Maria Bowden. In 1916 he married the former Lora
    Bedford. She died in 1965 .  Survivors include four sons; William E. of Sidney, with whom he lived,
    James C. Troy, Bruce, Orlando, Fla, Franklin, Kettering, four daughters, Mrs. Vanus (Alrene) Falke,
    R.R.2 Sidney , Mrs. Charles (Mabel)Smith, Sidney, Mrs. Don (Carolyn) Bodenmiller, Port Jefferson,
    Mrs. Larry (Kay)Jackson, Piqua; 24 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ethel
    Ames, Adrian, Mich.  Mr. Bowden was a paint room foreman at the former Sidney Machine Tool Company
    before his retirement. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m at the Cromes Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr.
    Ross Wilhide officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.  Friends may call at the
    funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until the hour of service.
