From the Wayne County Newspaper, dated Friday, August 17, 1956:  Funeral Services for Mrs. J. W.Moore
Held on Saturday.  Funeral services for Mrs. John Wright Moore, 73 Waynesboro, were at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Highland Baptist church.  The Rev. Barney Webb officiated. Burial was in Highland
cemetery with Middle Tennessee Funeral Home in charge.  Mrs. Moore died Wednesday at the home of a
daughter, Mrs. Grace Applegate, Nashville. She was a native of Wayne county, a daughter of James H.
and Mary Brewer.  She Was a member of the Baptist church.  Surviving are her husband, four other
daugthers, Mrs. Coleen Peras, Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Nell Green, Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. Virginia
Hunter, Bakerfield, Calif., and Mrs. Edna Cherry, White House, Tenn. three sons, James, Floyd and
Clyde Moore, all of Delano, Calif. four sisters, Mrs. Eliza Davis, Waynesboro, Mrs. Lucille Frazier
and Mrs. Sallie Nutt, both of Hohenwald, Tenn. and Mrs. Mollie Beth Daniels, Delano, three brothers,
Clarence, Rich and Jasper Brewer, Waynesboro, 33 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
